Easy Gluten Free Naan
If you don't succeed try again! I have been trying to perfect this gluten free naan recipe for a while now. One, tasted too much like pancakes. Another, was too flat. Well, yesterday I tried a recipe with yeast and found out my yeast went bad and made my naan super dense and taste so sour and gross :(. But, I was determined and tried my original simple recipe again. This time, though, I switched up the types of flour and it turned out great!
We are going grocery shopping tomorrow, so we will get new yeast and I will try the recipe with yeast again. I still think it can be a little less dense and more airy. But, until then enjoy this super easy recipe!
Easy Gluten Free Naan
Ingredients
*makes 5
- 1 cup cassava flour
- ¼ cup arrowroot flour
- 1 cup of collagen powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley or chives (optional)
So grateful my mom gave us her old mixer! We are loving it! |
Directions
- Add flours, baking soda, salt pepper together in a bowl and mix well.
- Add yogurt and olive oil. If using a mixer, use the dough hook and mix on slow. If by hand mix until equally incorporated.
- Add water slowly until mixture sticks to itself and becomes dough.
- Cut dough into 5 pieces and roll into ball.
- I made two using my hands to press the dough flat. The other two I rolled between to pieces of parchment paper with a rolling pin.
- Heat a pan with olive oil spray or coconut oil. Cook on medium heat about 2-3 minutes each side depending on how thick the pita is.
- Enjoy with butter, dairy free cream cheese or hummus!
My amazing Grandma! Easter pic :)
